IRA Newsletter Project: Effective Literacy Website #1

Teacher Brain (http://www.teacherbrain.com.au/about_us) is a site for primary teachers, parents of homeschoolers, or anyone who wants to advance their child or students’ learning.  I chose the Teacher Brain site out of fifty popular and recommended   effective literacy websites chosen by teachers. The title alone sparks the interest of teachers into wanting to learn more about this site.  You could also learn more about Teacher Brain by following them on Facebook and Twitter.
Teacher Brain was launched in 2013.  It is a site geared for grade levels Pre-K to 6th grade.  Teachers use Teacher Brain to acquire a variety of activities to be used in a classroom using rotating literacy groups for daily literacy sessions. This is not a free website.  It cost $25 per year to download unlimited resources.
After the customer confirms their payment through Paypal, they will receive an email, which will give them immediate access to Teacher Brain resources.  Your subscription will automatically be renewed each year. These resources are all available as a pdf.  You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader in order for you to view and download any games and activities.
Teacher Brain has a full sight word program that you could download and print out.  This program offers flash cards, home programs, assessments, bingo, games, worksheets, and displays.
Teacher Brain also offers fun and engaging Susan Burke interactive lessons.  Her website includes clips, graphics, games and quizzes on different topics.   You can email Susan and request a specific theme and will make it for you.  Her website is, http://interactivelessons.com.au/free-lessons/.  You could also follow her on Facebook.
Teacher Brain continually add resources, new games and activities that help the teacher educate their students in fun ways.
