IRA Newsletter Project: Effective Literacy Website #6

            Unite for literacy (http://www.uniteforliteracy.com/) is website that provides an abundance of books for children to practice to love reading. It is a website that is introduced to families as the free digital library. Unite for Literacy is a free online resource of picture books that helps different literacy learners.  It provides easy navigation of abundance of digital books. It also provides guidance of different languages and search by categories. The website is made for computers and mobile device access; books are easy for young and old people to use. The program is simple with shown picture menu and users can easily navigate through the books using arrow at the right and left. The provided books in the digital library are accessible for students who are having difficulties with eye sight as well as hearing impairment.
            As long as there is internet, you can read or listen to hundreds of books on Unite for literacy. There are features on the website including the use of all original books in the library and it mostly focused on non-fiction. Non-fiction is necessarily provided for worldwide languages. Children with different languages and cultures will be able to enjoy their own books with the use of Unite for Literacy website.
            Unite for Literacy has a mission: “to provide a world where all children have access to an abundance of books that celebrate their languages and cultures and cultivate a life-long of reading.
