Effective Literacy Website #4
Raz-Kids (https://www.raz-kids.com/) is an award-winning literacy product that offers
comprehensive leveled reading resources for children. Raz-Kids has a wide range
of eBooks offered at 29 different levels of reading difficulty. Kids are able
to access their leveled reading text through an interactive learning portal
designed to keep them motivated and engaged! Through the interactive learning
portal, all eBooks will be available online and in mobile formats. The eBooks
allow students to listen, read at their own pace, and record themselves
reading.
When students are finished reading each eBook, they
will take a corresponding eQuiz with an extended answer response to test
comprehension and determine future instruction needs. Once a child reads ten or
more leveled eBooks and passes each of the corresponding eQuizzes, he or she
will have the opportunity to advance to the next reading level. As the students
progress, their eBooks will be lengthier and more difficult to read. In
addition, there are Spanish eBooks and eQuiz translations for English language
learners and bilinguals programs provided from Raz-Kids. As of now, there have
been over six billion books read through its digital library.
Since Raz-Kids is an exceptional website perfect for
a child’s reading development, many parents and teachers turn to this website
as an additional asset to a child’s education. Parents and teachers are able to
buy the Raz-Kids reading product for a little over one hundred dollars.
Although I wish it were free, I believe that the Raz-Kids reading product is
worth it in the end. If parents or teachers are unable to buy the full product,
there is also an option to receive free samples and start free trials. Overall,
Raz-Kids is an exceptional literacy website and reading product because it is
accessible for students, it keeps teachers in control, the reading results are
extraordinary, and the product is aligned with Common Core State Standards.
